Context work for a design studio: the dependence on one key person became visible
AI tools that know the studio. And a finding nobody had been looking for.
A Swiss design studio wanted its AI tools to know its own business. The context work for that made something visible that nobody had put into words before: a substantial share of revenue depended on a single person.
Starting point
The studio used chat tools like any other company: without knowledge of its clients, workflows and tone. Every answer was brilliant and generic, and every one had to be reworked.
Knowledge about clients, prices, workflows and style lived in people's heads, above all in one. None of it was written down, so neither a tool nor a stand-in could use it.
The project ran as a free reference project. The studio is not named publicly.
Approach
- Profile interview with the management: role, clients, workflows, priorities, tone. From it, the context files that any tool can read.
- The same tasks solved once without and once with context, with the management at the screen. Corrections went into the files, not into the chat.
- While writing down the workflows, we checked who carries them today and what happens when that person is away.
Result
- Context files in plain text that any chat tool can read and that belong to the studio
- Answers that know the business instead of generic drafts
- A hidden dependence on one key person became visible and is now documented instead of living only in someone's head
